Manage Domain

In the Domain and DNS Record page of the Robeeta Cloud DHSM, users have the ability to seamlessly integrate their domains into their SATHYA TECHNOSOFT account. This feature grants them comprehensive control over the DNS records associated with SATHYA TECHNOSOFT's name servers, ensuring that their domain settings are properly configured and managed.

Manage Domain

To begin the domain integration process, users must navigate to the Manage Domain menu. Here, they can add new domains to their account. It's important to note that only domains with recognized top-level domains (TLDs) that are acknowledged by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) can be added. This restriction ensures that only legitimate and globally recognized domain names are used.

The domain addition process involves entering the desired domain name into the system. Users are also prompted to select a default DNS template from a dropdown menu, which helps standardize the initial setup of DNS records. Once these details are entered, the system performs a DNS lookup to verify if the domain has been previously registered or associated with SATHYA TECHNOSOFT's services. If the domain is not already in the system, it is successfully added, and users receive a confirmation message indicating that the domain has been integrated. The newly added domains are then displayed in the Manage Domain list, where users can view and manage them as needed.

Manage DNS Record

The DNS Record management functionality within the Robeeta Cloud DHSM allows users to define and manage specific DNS records for their domains. This feature is crucial for directing internet traffic to the correct locations, ensuring that services such as websites, email servers, and other online applications function properly.

When users click the Manage button for a specific domain on the Manage Domain page, they are redirected to the Manage DNS Record page. Here, they can view and manage DNS records for that domain, including adding, modifying, or deleting records. This ensures the domain is correctly configured and that all associated services, like websites and email, operate smoothly.

Users can add various types of DNS records by selecting the Add DNS Record option. The most commonly used DNS record types include:

  1. A (Address) Records: These map a domain name to an IPv4 address, which is essential for routing traffic to the correct server.

  2. AAAA Records: Similar to A records, but for mapping a domain to an IPv6 address, accommodating modern internet protocols.

  3. CNAME (Canonical Name) Records: These allow one domain to be an alias of another, simplifying domain management and pointing multiple domains to the same IP address.

  4. MX (Mail Exchange) Records: These direct email to the appropriate mail servers for a domain, ensuring the proper delivery of emails.

  5. PTR (Pointer) Records: Used for reverse DNS lookups, mapping an IP address to a domain name, which is often used for security and logging purposes.

When adding a new DNS record, users must provide specific details, including the record type, the name of the record, the TTL (Time to Live), and any additional comments. The TTL determines how long the DNS information is cached by resolvers and can impact how quickly changes to DNS records propagate across the internet. Optional comments can be used for internal documentation or to deactivate records by prefixing them with a ';'.

This DNS management system gives users complete control over domain settings, including advanced configurations like PTR records, to optimize and secure their online presence.
