To edit a VM, click the Edit icon. There are five tabs available: VM Info, Instance Detail, Networking, Attach Security Group, and Event Log.
VM Info
In the VM Info tab, you can modify the VM Name as needed, while other details such as MAC Address, Private IPv4 Address, Guest OS, Public IPv4 Address, DNS Name, and Username are read-only. Click the Show Password checkbox to display a one-time password that you can copy and use. Use the Stop button to stop the VM online and the Restart button to restart the VM. After making modifications, click the Update button to save the changes.
Note: If you forget an one-time password, the VM cannot be recovered due to strict security policies.
Attach Security Group
In the Attach Security Group tab, you can add multiple Security Groups. The VM Name is read-only, but you can provide the VM Private IP, and Security Group Name. After modifications, click the Update button to save the changes.
Mandatory: Attaching a security group is essential to balance traffic and ensure proper VM operation. Only after attaching a security group you can set the IP address.
Networking
In the Networking tab, select the IP address that needs to be attached. The VM Name is read-only. After selecting the IP, click the Attach IP Address button to save the changes.
Note: Before attaching the IP, ensure that the VM is mapped to this IP on the Manage IP page; otherwise, there will be no IP to manage the VM.
Mandatory: Networking configuration is essential for the VM to have internet connectivity and function properly. Without networking, the VM will not be able to operate.
Instance Detail
In the Instance Detail tab, you can modify the Plan List as needed, while other details such as Instance Type Name, Cores, and Memory (GB) are read-only. After changing the plan, click the Change Plan button to save the changes.
